About Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a cooperative farming agreement between consumers and farmers, sharing the inherent risks of working, at times, despite of the elements. Exchanging seasonal produce for up-front payments helps purchase necessary supplies for the season. Each year is different for each crop and in taking part in our CSA you are sharing in our risks and in our bounty. That being said, we are utilizing season extension methods and use varieties that are appropriate for our short season and variable climate. We are also expanding our crop varieties so we will always have something offer! A subscription to our locally grown produce is a form of investment in our farm and in our mission.
Seasonal Produce
We have an expanding variety of vegetables, herbs, and greens planted this season! Each of our 10 weekly boxes will provide a selection of produce including greens, herbs, alliums, root crops, and seasonal vegetables. Each box will include 6-8 items and a recipe including at least one item in that week’s box. Bear Canyon Farm CSA members will enjoy the quality of fresh, naturally grown produce for their families while supporting the mission of the farm.
Delivery/Pick-up
For our 2023 Summer CSA, your veggie box will be ready each week on Monday afternoon. The CSA subscription begins July 24 and ends September 25. See subscription form for exact days and times of pick-up. As fresh produce is quite perishable, if you cannot pick up your share at that time, please make arrangements for someone to pick-up for you.
Subscription and Payment Options
Please sign up online or fill out the attached form and mail, email or drop off in person with your payment by June 24th. Either pay in full for make your first partial payment at time of signing up. The final payment is due July 25th at the first pickup. We accept check, cash, paypal and credit card payments, although we have to pay a fee for credit card payments and paypal transfers, so cash and check are preferred payment methods. Please complete this form by June 30, 2023 to reserve your box as we have limited spots available!
